Plus, you’ve already found the best moving services in Pasadena, CA – us! We hope you’re excited to join the city, and we want to help you out. Here’s a few things to consider to make the most out of your move:

Choosing Your HomeChoosing Your Home

There are several different neighborhoods within Pasadena and, depending on what you’re looking for, some are better than others. The first thing you should consider is pricing. Home values fluctuate like crazy in our city, so don’t be concerned if you see something with a massive price tag – not everything is that high. For easy access into the rest of LA, you’re going to want to pick a place that is close to the Metro Gold Line. This makes it simple to get downtown or to other parts of the city, and makes traffic a thing of the past.

Another important thing to consider when moving to Pasadena is that that parts of the city are very old, which means old homes. There’s nothing inherently wrong with an old home, they just might require some renovations to make living easier. Also, earthquakes.

Who You Gonna Call?

Actually, depending on where you’re visiting, you might want to call Ghostbusters. If you’re a fan of visiting haunted hang-outs, there are a few spots that might be worth a visit. If you’re not a fan of ghosts – don’t worry, we haven’t seen any ourselves. For all things moving and not paranormal, the Pasadena Moving Company is the only call you’ll need to make.

We’ll get all of your belongings into your new home in no time at all. Our rates are affordable, our movers are friendly, and our communication is crystal-clear. We guarantee that no other moving services in Pasadena, CA come anywhere close to us!

Okay, now that you’ve selected an awesome house or apartment and have called the best moving company around, you’ve figured out most of the tough stuff. Let’s talk a little bit about Pasadena specifically, and some things you should keep in mind.

Bring A Car

Bring A Car

Even if you manage to find a spot you love with easy access to the Metro, you’re probably going to want to bring your car with you when moving to Pasadena. The fact is that most of LA is almost completely inaccessible through public transportation. Even in Pasadena, you’ll want to have a car to get around and make quick runs to the store. Our public transportation isn’t the worst around, but it could certainly be improved.

The Joys of Traffic

You can’t talk about driving in the LA-area without conjuring up horrifying images of bumper-to-bumper traffic on the 405, the 10, the 110 – just about anywhere, really. Traffic is just a part of life out here and something that needs to be accounted for. Until you become familiar with your commute, we highly recommend giving yourself even more extra time than you normally would to get there. Even though traffic is ever-present, congestion definitely varies depending on the time of day you’re traveling, tacking on minutes to hours to your drive.

You’ll probably learn this pretty quickly, but driving on Colorado Blvd. should be avoided when possible. Even though the street itself is awesome and filled with a ton of cool places worth checking out, driving down it could turn the most zen monk into the Hulk. Find other ways to get there or carve out enough time to make a real trip.
Things Are Heating Up

Things Are Heating Up

One thing you should know about Pasadena is that it can get really hot in the summer months. Even though these days can be a drag, the heat doesn’t usually last for very long. The pain can be controlled with the right tools, namely a good air-conditioning system, a pool, and lots of water (or the cold beverage of your choice!). Don’t let a few rough weeks dissuade you from moving to Pasadena. Stay prepared and you’ll be just fine!

Take a Trip to Old Town

Old Town Pasadena is full of awesome shops, delicious restaurants, and general places to spend some time and walk around. It has beautiful architecture and looks incredible when lit up at night. We highly recommend you visit it soon after moving so that you can get a taste of what the city really has to offer.

Find it All at Flea Markets

You might have already heard about the famous monthly flea market at the Rose Bowl that happens every month. It’s massive, giving you the opportunity to find just about anything you might want for a great price. It also has delicious food and other stalls that are worth checking out. In our years as one of the best moving services in Pasadena, CA, we’ve also discovered another little gem: the flea market at Pasadena City College. It’s also monthly and has a very impressive collection of stalls.
